Avasa

Avasa has developed a novel tubular tissue transformer to automate and standardise microvascular surgery procedures, specifically arterial anastomosis. The company’s technology is poised to disrupt the current manual method, offering clinicians a precise, easy-to-adopt tool aimed at improving patient clinical outcomes with minimal upskilling required.

Avasa is founded by Dr Nandoun Abeysekera, who is qualified as both a Clinician (plastic surgery resident) and as a Biomedical Engineer. Through the intersection of these two disciplines, Nandoun developed the concept for the Avasa coupler.
