Ian is one of the founding partners of Movac and a significant investor in Movac Funds 1 and 2.
Ian was wise council to the Movac partners when we started out in business in 1998. He helped us navigate our way through complex projects in large government organisations and instilled the value of good governance, something that has become core to all the Movac investments since.
In his past Ian held very senior roles in government agencies in New Zealand, at one point being the acting Director General of Health.
Ian is now a passionate wine producer being the owner of Kaimera Estate in Nelson with his wife June Hamilton. His Reisling and Pinot Noir are the Movac favourites but he’s pretty confident in his Methode Traditionnelle.
He is strong advocate for the New Zealand science community and personally invested significantly to ensure that our top talent have careers that they can pursue in New Zealand.
